Mitsubishi Power Systems Americas Savannah Machinery Works Phase III

The joint venture team of Batson-Cook and H. J. High has started construction of Bay 5, the latest addition to the project. The project is progressing with all foundations for structural steel installed and approximately 25% of the structural steel erected. Bay 5 contains more equipment foundations than any of the previously constructed bays and construction of these foundations will begin in November. The 30,000 sf office has foundations installed and is ready for structural steel.

The joint venture team of Batson-Cook and H. J. High has completed construction of Bay 4 which is the latest addition to the project. With Bays 1-4 and the office building at the front of the project complete we have constructed approximately 325,000 sf. This includes bays for refurbishing parts of the compressors and bays for assembling entire gas turbines. Bay 4 is unique in that we installed two 250T bridge cranes that contain two auxiliary 50T cranes. These will allow the user to make tandem picks in excess of 400T. All the foundations, building steel and crane runways were sized for this loading. The bay also has two 30T cranes for general use.
