IRCC Treasure Coast Public Safety Training Complex

H. J. High Construction Company has been chosen as Construction Manager for Indian River Community College's Treasure Coast Public Safety Training Complex in Fort Pierce, Florida.

This 110,026 square foot six-building complex will provide the Treasure Coast with the most sophisticated and well-equipped public safety training facility and will be "state of the art."  This facility will combine criminal justice, fire science and forensics, and enable IRCC to train 1,200 law enforcement and corrections officers, firefighters, EMTs, paralegals, and social services workers, tripling their current enrollment in public safety.

While keeping the local community as the primary audience, this complex will also provide training and ongoing professional development for federal, state, and local officials who can participate in real-life training exercises using the latest technologies, crime detection, and fire science procedures.

The complex includes prison cells, court room, classrooms and conference rooms, stage and auditorium, athletic/physical training areas, weight room, a 3-story indoor tactical training facility, a Fire Fighting Technology Building with fire suppression lab and related classrooms, and a six-story Fire Fighting Training Tower that will allow students to train in different scenarios.

Construction is expected to begin in June of 2007, with completion by June of 2008.
