Volusia Schools: Ormond Beach Middle School

Ormond Beach Middle School

H. J. High is currently serving the School Board of Volusia County as Construction Manager for the Starmer Ranaldi Architecture designed Master Plan Redevelopment of Ormond Beach Middle School. The project will essentially replace every building on campus while maintaining full student occupancy throughout. As of May 1, 2011, the project has started the third phase of construction. The first phase (June 2008-December 2009), included renovations of the gymnasium building and new construction of a two story classroom building and two story Administration/Media Center. It was completed on time and under budget. The second phase which was completed March 14, 2011 was 5 weeks ahead of schedule and under budget. The savings from the previous phases of construction have allowed the third phase to include a new Career Education Building as well as the originally planned 2-story classroom building. Completion of the final phase of the redevelopment is currently planned for Fall 2012.
